January 24 - January 26

Today this is the first day for observation. Because I am from Geography Department, I will do social studies class observation. my observation with 3 friends who are also same major of social studies, and followed by buddies. I forgot to tell you before, I got buddies who will help me for one month. I have two buddies they are Eunice and Charming. so everyone will get one or more buddies.

I made my first observation in Grade 7, the teacher who was in Grade 7 at that time was Mr. Arturo Kibra with Economic subject. Before starting the lesson, Mr. Kibra introduced us to students. All students are very welcoming and enthusiastic.

After that we talk with mr. Kibra about education at the school. So, PSU INTEGRATED SCHOOL uses curriculum 12. High school department is very different from school in Indonesia. There 4th year for junior high school and 2nd year for senior high school. mr kibra said, for subject social studies in high school they will learn one topic only, for example this year Grade 7 is only about Economics, then Grade 8 is studying history. So, the next year they will learn a different topic.

After finishing a long story with Mr. Kibra, me and my friends continue to observe in the next class according to the schedule that has been determined.

This observation continued for three days until january, 26. during my observations I had many teaching experiences I had never seen before. such as giving motivation at the beginning of learning, this is to cultivate students' curiosity on the topic to be studied
